Japanese Martial Arts Demos at New Years Celebration
The Chicago Aikido Club will be performing a demonstration with the Tohkon Judo Academy during the annual Kagami Biraki Japanese New Year’s Festivities at the Japanese American Service Committee on Saturday, January 8.
Events also include performances of traditional Japanese drumming, the making of traditional New Year’s rice cakes and a Shinto Purification ceremony. Details at http://www.jasc-chicago.org/

The Alchemist by Ben Jonson

WE ARE SEEKING: 8 men and 4 women, all shapes, sizes, ages and types who are good with language, physical comedy and can bring a number of different characters to life. Jonson's characters are broadly sketched (and yet at the same time very specific), so actors who make bold choices can step to the front of the line.
Auditions will be held Wednesday and Thursday, January 5th and 6th from 7pm-11pm at TRACE Bar in Wrigleyville. ...No monologues will be necessary. Please come prepared to read sides from the show.

They are asking that actors make themselves available for both evenings of the auditions, if at all possible. Please let them know right away if you have a conflict.
