So other than me really failing at posting weekly, things in the Fight Jam world have been going quite well.
Our last Jam was Street Fighting where we took a look at how to make some of our standard unarmed choreography extra messy, unexpected and vicious. I think we all came away with a few bruises from that one. And an extra thanks to Michael Anderson for stopping by and sharing some of his "field research" on the subject with us.
Our two year anniversary Jam is coming up on April 20th, so be looking for details on that.
Also on 4/20 there will be a remounting of last summer's highly successful production of Reefer Madness produced by the Brown Paper Box Co.
Details:
Studio BE, 3110 N Sheffield
7pm AND 9pm
Also, Studio BE is BYOB!
For those of you looking for something to do next weekend, there is an awesome looking dance show happening at Ruth Page on the 1st and 2nd
Babes with Blades all female production of Romeo and Juliet also opens this week at the West Stage in the Raven Theater Complex
For those of you needing to renew in broadsword and/or rapier dagger, there's an SPR happening in Wisconsin on April 9th taught by DC Wright and adjudicated by Chuck Coyl. If you're interested please go here for more information (if link is not actually helpful let me know and I will do what I can).
