The record for the highest fall in a movie goes to a stunt man named A.J Bakunas for a 232 foot leap from a helicopter in the movie Hooper.
From that height he was in the air for close to 4 seconds and moving close to 83 mph when he hit the airbag. (Time squared = distance/gravity; final velocity = gravity * time)
His momentum was 564 pounds force or 1/4 ton! (momentum = mass * velocity)
Had his technique not been perfect it very easily could have been a stunt gone bad, even with an airbag. That pretty much explains why the record hasn't been broken.
